this stuff exists. the hard part at this point is figuring out how to integrate them into teams smoothly

i also don’t think “automate” is the right framing. i don’t think software engineering will be fully automated for a long time. you still need AI operators, and it’s really not an easy skill rn

every time i think, “oh, we just automated software development”, i suddenly realize that no, i just moved my involvement another layer higher. and i can’t imagine a point where humans aren’t involved at all, but certainly the job changes every time you bump up a level
