New Post: MCP Is Unnecessary
I can’t think of any strong technological reasons for MCP to exist. There’s a lot of weak technological reasons, and there’s strong sociological reasons. I still strongly feel that, ironically, it is necessary.

i don’t know why MCP exists
i mean, i do, it’s because APIs aren’t well designed. and MCP addresses that by inserting yet another API shim with better designed API and clearer docs
but you could do that without MCP too

i think this approach, explaining why it’s **NOT** necessary actually does a lot for clarifying what it really does and why it actually is necessary
