i think i largely agree. even with people, your assumptions about how they want to be treated are so often wrong, especially with minorities where you don’t share a cultural background. why would it be different for a far more alien thing?

but i also think someone needs to be measuring, and not just in the lab. so i don’t entirely disagree with Anthropic’s moves
